Obituary

Mrs. Jewel V. Rearden, age 88, went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 17, 2022. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, May 20, 2022 at Bay Springs Free Will Baptist Church 11:00 AM with Pastor Emory Howell officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Bay Springs Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery where she will be laid to rest beside her husband of 61 years, Ray Edwin Rearden. The friends may greet the family Friday, May 20, 2022 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Bay Springs Free Will Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations please be made to Bay Springs Free Will Baptist Church General Fund, 1302 Bay Springs Church Road, Eastman, GA 31023. Mrs. Jewel V. Rearden was born in Eastman , GA to the late Isaac Monroe Smith and Nancy Jewel Butler Smith. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ray Edwin Rearden, brothers: Hollis Smith and Edison Smith, and a sister, Marjorie Ross. Jewel was a caring women who always took great care of her family and friends. She was an avid Atlanta Braves fan that enjoyed camping and spoiling her her fur baby, Seth. She was an active member of Bay Springs Free Will Baptist Church for many years and devoted her life to her Lord and Savior. Mrs. Jewel V. Rearden was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and dear friend who will be dearly missed. Mrs. Jewel V. Rearden is survived by her children; grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; brothers; and a host of extended friends and family.
