GEORGE TERRY “PETEY” MOORE, JR., age 52, of Eastman, GA, died Monday, February 8, 2021 at the Dodge County Hospital. A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM Thursday, February 11, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Mike Grenade and Rev. Frank Osborne officiating, with interment in Plainfield Baptist Church Cemetery. Petey was born and raised in Dodge County, of the Baptist Faith, a 1989 graduate of the Georgia School for the Deaf in Cave Springs, where he excelled at football, and attended Jacksonville State University (JSU) in Alabama. He moved to Douglasville, GA and went to work for the U.S. Postal Service in Atlanta, GA where he retired after 12 years of service. He moved back to Eastman in 2007 and lived here the remainder of his life. He was a die hard Georgia Bulldog and Atlanta Falcons football fan, loved sports, and enjoyed fishing, camping, the outdoors, and watching TV. But most of all, he loved spending time with his family. Petey was preceded in death by his Father, George Terry Moore, Sr. and Step-Father, Jimmy Heath. He is survived by his Wife of 8 years; 2 Step-Sons; 2 Grandchildren; 2 Brothers; Aunts; Several Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins. The family may be contacted at the Moore residence.
