Obituary
Rev. Buford Atkinson. age 85, of Eastman died Monday, February 23, 2009 in Heart of Georgia Nursing Home.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 26, 2009 in Solid Rock Church of God, with Rev. Tim Hicks officiating. Interment will follow in Cottondale Cemetery.
Brother Buford was born in Dodge County, was a member of Solid Rock Church of God. an ordained minister, pastor and Sunday school teacher for many years at Heart of Georgia Nursing Home. a cabinet maker and a retired civil service employee of Warner Robins Air Force Base. He is preceded in death by a son. Randall Atkinson and his wife. Lola Mae Raffield Atkinson.
Survivors include his son; daughter-in-law; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
