MRS. MARY RACHEL SPINKS CLEMENTS, age 78, of Rochelle, GA, died Saturday, January 28, 2023, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Tuesday, January 31, at Rhine Baptist Church, with Rev. Ricky Gilmore and Mr. Gary Ryals officiating, with interment in Bay Springs Cemetery in Rhine. Mrs. Clements was born in 1944 in Rhine, GA, a member of Rhine Baptist Church, and a graduate of Dodge County High School. After high school she married Roy Pitts while he was serving his country in the U.S. Air Force. During this time, they lived in several places while he was in service. She was a homemaker and raised her two children first in Lyons and later moved back home to Rhine after her husband passed in 1981. She married Bill Clements in 1992, and they enjoyed 30 years of marriage. They lived in Hawkinsville and later moved to Rochelle in 2001, where they resided to the present day. Rachel was a caretaker for many family members over the years. She enjoyed family get togethers, spending time with her family, and tending to her many flowers and fruit trees. She was a devout Christian lady and loved her church dearly. She was the daughter of the late Birder Hardeman Spinks and Harvey Spinks and was preceded in death by her Husband, Roy Hurston Pitts, Sister, Betty Jean Spinks Harrell, Brother, Rayford Spinks, and Step-Son-in-law, Gerald Spires. She is survived by her Husband of 30 Years; Daughter; Son; 15 Great-grandchildren – Brent Stanley, Brodie Stanley, Brenlee Stanley, Brice Stanley, Fisher Pitts, Blayke Tomberlin, Linzy Tomberlin, Carleigh Pitts, Beau Pitts, Aspen Benton, Allie Benton, Gaston Benton, Addisyn McCranie, John-David McCranie, and Samuel McCranie; 2 Step-Daughters – Monica Clements Spires of Eastman, and Lisa Clements Elton of North Carolina; 2 Sisters – Geraldine McCranie of Rhine, and Annie Ashley of Jacksonville, FL; Sister-in-law – Mary Lou Clements (Derrell) of Rochelle; Aunt – Mary Hardeman of Eastman; Uncle -Charles Hardeman (Bobbie) of Eastman; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. The family may be contacted at the residence and will receive friends in Rhine Baptist Church from 1:00PM-2:00PM Tuesday, January 31.
