MRS. SHELBY JEAN PHILLIPS OHRMUNDT, age 70, of Eastman, GA, died Sunday, May 22, 2022, at Augusta University Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM Thursday, May 26, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Myron Parkerson officiating, with interment in Coleman Cemetery in Plainfield. Shelby was a lifelong resident of Dodge County, a member of Central Baptist Church, and a graduate of Dodge County High School. She worked for several years at Reynolds Aluminum, Gilman Paper Company, and Goody’s Inc. before going to work at B.C. Moore’s, where she worked for over 30 years as a retail sales manager. She was a dedicated, loving, and perfect mother and nana to her family. She enjoyed raising and taking care of her family, cooking, and watching soap operas. Shelby was the daughter of the late Willie Mae Darsey Phillips and Early Hobson Phillips and was preceded in death by her Former Husband, Donald Lee Ohrmundt, and her Sister, Voncile P. Rooks. She is survived by her Daughter; Son; 2 Grandsons; 3 Sisters; 2 Brothers; Several Nieces and Nephews. The family may be contacted at the Ohrmundt residence and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 5:00-7:00 PM Wednesday, May 25.
