Macon, GA- Aliene Yancey Warchak, born 8/30/1925 in Dodge County to Charlie and Bertha Yancey, was called home to heaven on 11/18/2018. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Hart's Mortuary, 765 Cherry Street, Macon, GA 31201 with The Reverend Dr. Jerry Maddox Woodberry, Jr. (Matt) officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at Hart's Mortuary. Interment will follow the service at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Aliene was a long-time resident of Macon, a member of Mulberry Street United Methodist Church, and an educator in Bibb County public schools for 25 years, being awarded Georgia Teacher of the Year 1985. She traveled extensively, for pleasure and for the American & International Home Economics Associations. Destinations included Australia, China, Russia, Europe and US, including Alaska and Hawaii. She was a member of Mulberry's Sunday school Joy Class and Young at Heart, and served for years with the Macon Outreach Program. Her long-lasting memberships in veteran's organizations included Post 3 American Legion Auxiliary and the Disabled Americans Veterans Auxiliary. Aliene is predeceased by her husband, John Warchak; son, Stan Warchak; sister. She is survived by her children; grandchildren; great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters; sisters-in-law, Grace Yancey and Ida Yancey of Eastman; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
