Obituary

MR. CLARENCE THOMAS BURCH, age 94, of Eastman, GA, died Tuesday, March 31, 2020 at Dogwood Gardens Senior Living. A private family graveside service will be held on Friday, April 3, at Sweet Home Baptist Church Cemetery, with Mr. Reggie Sheffield and Rev. Joe Daniel officiating. Clarence was a lifelong resident of Dodge County, a member and deacon of New Daniels Baptist Church, a WWII veteran of the U.S. Navy, and a retired supervisor for Ocmulgee EMC for over 45 years. He was a dedicated husband and father who was affectionately known as “Bebo” to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed fox hunting, barbequing, being outdoors, spending time around his pond, catfish at Griff’s, and he loved his hunting dogs. He was a resident of Dogwood Gardens Senior Living for the past several years. Clarence was son of the late Melcener Howard Burch and William Matthew “Math” Burch, widower of Ruby Sheffield Burch, and was preceded in death by 6 Siblings, Audrey Sheffield, Elvie Rogers, Essie Mae Sheffield, Leila Burnham, Clifford Burch, and William Burch. He is survived by his Daughter; Son; 4 Grandchildren; 5 Great-Grandchildren; Sister; 7 Sisters-in-law; Numerous Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to the Gideons International Bible Fund.
