Obituary
Doris Yaun Harrell Forsyth . . . Doris Yaun Harrell passed away Monday, May 26, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 29, 2014, at Rogers United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Harrell Cemetery, Godwinsville, Hwy 341, between Eastman and Chauncey. Reverend Eugene Barlow and Reverend Sonny Rogers will officiate.
The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel and the family will also greet friends the day of the service from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Mrs. Harrell, the daughter of the late J.C. “Tiny†Yaun and Mattie Strickland Yaun was born December 13, 1928, in Dodge County, Georgia. Her husband of sixty-four years, Rev. Norman Max Harrell, Sr. and her son Norman Max Harrell, Jr. preceded her in death. Mrs. Harrell was a graduate of Middle Georgia College and she attended Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville. She was retired from INA and was a lifetime member of South Georgia United Methodist Women. Mrs. Harrell was a faithful supporter of her husband’s ministry and a servant to her family and community.
Survivors include her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Rogers United Methodist Church, 636 Gregory Road, Forsyth, GA 31029 or to Alzheimer’s Association, 886 Mulberry Street, Macon, GA 31201. Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
