Valdosta, GA- MRS. MARGUERITE WILLCOX HARDEN, age 99, formerly of Eastman, GA, died Friday, April 7, 2017 at Fellowship Home in Valdosta. Graveside services will be held at 2:00PM Monday, April 10, at Woodlawn Cemetery, with Dr. Jerry Peele officiating. Mrs. Harden was born and raised in the Midway Community of Pulaski County before moving to Eastman. She was a graduate of Eastman High School and attended Bessie Tift College. Marguerite was married to Seaborn James Harden for 63 years and was a homemaker and bookkeeper for her husband's farming operation. She was a member of the Colonial Dames, Daughters of the American Revolution, United Daughters of the Confederacy and a lifelong member of Eastman First Baptist Church and a member of the Sallie Bacon Sunday school class. She was daughter of the late J.K. Willcox and Margaret Rebekah Coffee Willcox and was preceded in death by her husband, Seaborn James Harden, two sons, John Karl Harden and Seaborn James Harden II and her sister Ethel Williamson Sykes. Survivors include her daughter; 2 daughters-in-law; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Annie Armstrong Mission Offering at First Baptist Church in Eastman, 5017 Oak Street, Eastman, GA 31023.
