Obituary
Chester – Susan Smith Rye, age 58, died Friday, August 7, 2020, in the East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro. Graveside funeral services will be held Monday, August 10, 2020, at 10:00 A.M. in Pleasant Olive Cemetery in Chester.
Susan was born and had lived most of her life in Dodge County. She was the daughter of the late Rev. J.B. Smith. Susan was an employee at Farmers Furniture in Dublin and a 1980 graduate of Dodge County High School. She was a member of Parkerson Baptist Church in Eastman.
Survivors are her husband; her children; her mother; her sisters; her brother; grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The family is at and will greet friends Sunday from 3:00 until 5:00 P.M. at Mathis Funeral Home.
