Obituary
Rhine, GA- MR. JOHN LEWIS FOWLER, age 90, of Milan, GA, died Friday, January 13, 2017 at his residence in Dodge County.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Monday, January 16, in Sand Grove Baptist Church, with Rev. Joey Bohannon and Rev. Donald Whitman officiating, with interment in Sand Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Fowler was a born in Dodge County and was the oldest member of Sand Grove Baptist Church. He was a World War II Veteran of the United States Navy and a 30 year retired Civil Service Employee at Robins AFB. John Lewis enjoyed working outdoors, listening to gospel music, taking care of his cars and loved watching old western movies. He liked to keep things in order and enjoyed working in his church and spending time with his church family. He was son of the late Charlie H. Fowler and Irene Durden Fowler and is preceded in death by his Wife – Johnnie Will Walker Fowler and 2 Brothers – Chester Fowler and Toby Fowler.
Survivors: Sister; Brother; 4 Sisters-In-Law; Several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Friends; Sitter and Caretaker.
The family may be contacted at the Fowler residence and will receive friends from 5:00PM until 7:00PM Sunday, January 15 in Southerland Funeral Chapel. In addition to flowers contributions may be made to Serenity Hospice, 304 1st Street, Vidalia, GA 30474 or Sand Grove Baptist Church.
