Obituary

MR. EPH DANIEL “E.D.” McCRANIE, age 82, of Eastman, GA, died Thursday, September 15, 2022, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Sunday September 18, 2022, at Fair Haven Baptist Church, with Rev. Donald Cole and Mr. Bobby Ryals officiating, with interment in Fair Haven Baptist Church Cemetery, with Gary Ryals officiating. Mr. McCranie was a lifelong resident of Dodge County, a member and deacon of Fair Haven Baptist Church, and a 1958 graduate of Dodge County High School. After high school he worked at Milan Cotton Gin and was an avid farmer who loved working the land, growing cotton and corn, and raising cows. He served in the Georgia National Guard for several years. He married in 1962 and went to work for Dixie Lily, Inc., before moving on to work for the State of Georgia building highways and working for Peacock Oil Company as a delivery man. He began his career as a feed salesman for Buddy Cadwell and soon went to work for MoorMan’s Manufacturing Company where he worked for 25 years as one of their top salesman. E.D. enjoyed working and providing for his family. He also enjoyed hunting and farming and was a dedicated worker in his church. He was the son of the late Mollie Lucille Wrye McCranie and Oscar David McCranie and was preceded in death by 2 Brothers, Jack McCranie and David McCranie, Sister, Louise Holt and 2 Sisters-In-Law, Martha Jean McCranie and Mavis McCranie. He is survived by his Wife of 60 years; 2 Daughters; 2 Sons; 4 Grandchildren; 8 Great-Grandchildren, and twin Great-Grandsons; 3 Sisters; 2 Brothers; Sister-In-Law; and Numerous Nieces and Nephews. The family may be contacted at the McCranie residence, and will receive friends in Fair Haven Baptist Church from 6:00PM-8:00PM Saturday, September 17. In addition to flowers the family request contributions to Gideons International Bible Fund and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
