Obituary

MRS. DIXIE ANN MAY FARMER, age 86, of Eastman, GA, died Sunday, August 16, 2020 at Houston Medical Center in Warner Robins. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Wednesday, August 19, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Tim Tanner and Rev. Chuck Yzenski officiating, with interment in Lovely Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Dixie was a lifelong resident of Dodge County, the oldest member and former pianist for over 40 years at Lovely Grove Baptist Church, and a homemaker. She was a graduate of Hendrix High School and received an Associates Degree in business from Middle Georgia College. She prided herself in being a Godly woman and had read the bible over 14 times. She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who enjoyed playing the piano, puzzle books, cooking for her family, and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially during the holidays. Dixie was the daughter of the late Ruby Smith May and Lon Ross May, widow of Franklin Farmer, and was preceded in death by a Son-in-law, Jeffrey Robertson, Foster Brother, Clarence Lewis, Sister and Brother-in-law, Edith and Marion Parkerson and Sister-in-law and Brother-in-law, Boots and Betty Farmer, and 2 Nephews, Lonnie Parkerson and Sid Parkerson. She is survived by her Daughter; 2 Sons; 5 Grandchildren; 15 Great-Grandchildren; Nieces and Nephews; Numerous Cousins and Friends. The family may be contacted at the residence. Mrs. Farmer will lie-in-state at Stokes-Southerland Funeral Home from 11:00AM-5:00PM Tuesday, August 18. In addition to flowers, the family request contributions to Gideons International Bible Fund.
