MR. WAYNE MATHEW BURCH, age 72, of Eastman, GA, died Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at Serenity Hospice in Dublin, GA. Graveside services will be held at 10:00AM Friday, September 24, at Vilula Baptist Church Cemetery, with Mr. Bobby Ryals officiating. Wayne was born in Eastman, a 1968 graduate of Dodge County High School, and a member of Central Baptist Church. He worked as a fire watchman for the Georgia Forestry Commission, was a former employee at Eastman Cotton Mill, for several years, and worked at Goody’s Inc. and for Shorty Bearden for many years as a store manager. He also worked at Heart of Georgia Technical College and North Dodge Elementary as a custodial engineer. Wayne was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed riding around the woods on his golf cart, watching hummingbirds, playing cards with friends, and giving his great-nieces and great-nephews nicknames. He was a loving brother and a favorite uncle to his family. He was the son of the late Ola Haley McCranie Burch and Charlie Clifford Burch and was preceded in death by a Step-Brother, Ricky Barnwell, and a Niece, Delane Burnham Mullis. He is survived by his 4 Siblings; Step-Sister; Step-Brother; Nieces and Nephews; Numerous Great-Nieces and Great-Nephews; 1 Great-Great-Nephew and 1 Great-Great-Niece; Numerous Cousins, and Friends. The family may be contacted at the residence. Wayne will lie-in-state at Stokes-Southerland Funeral Home from 11:00AM-4:00PM Thursday, September 23.
