Hawkinsville – Charles M. Barron, age 87, died Saturday, January 21, 2017, in Pinewood Manor in Hawkinsville. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 25, 2017, at 2:00 P.M. at Mathis Funeral Home. Burial will be in Pleasant Olive Cemetery in Chester. Mr. Barron, born in Dodge County, had lived in Port Salerno, FL before moving to Hawkinsville in 2008. He was the son of the late Lewis and Essie Roland Barron and the husband of the late Helen Rosemary Blum Barron. He was a truck driver, a Mason and Shriner and a US Army Veteran during the Korean War. He was a Christian and member of the First Baptist Church of Salerno FL. Survivors are his children; step-son; sisters; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. The family is at and will greet friends after the service Wednesday at Mathis Funeral Home.
