Ross Bennett 1920 - 2009 -EASTMAN - MR. WILLIAM ROSS BENNETT, age 88, of Eastman, died Thursday, July 2, 2009, in Dodge County Hospital. -Funeral Services are scheduled for 3P.M. Sunday, July 5 in Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Dr. Jerry Peele officiating, with interment in Pine Level Freewill Cemetery. -Mr. Bennett was a member and Deacon of Pine Level Freewill Baptist Church, a WWII U.S. Army veteran, served in the Civil Conservation Corps, was a retired Aircraft Mechanic for WRAFB, a farmer and son of the late Vallie Ross Bennett and William Frank Bennett. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Brewer and Eva Lou Roberts; three brothers, Prentice Bennett, Paul Bennett and Billy Bennett. -Survivors: wife of 58 years; two daughters; two sons; brother; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. -The family may be contacted at the Bennett residence and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. Sunday, July 5. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the American Diabetes Association. -Stokes-Southerland Funeral Home of Eastman has charge of arrangements.
