Bettyse Pitts Hilliard, age 75, of Eastman, died Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at her residence. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a. m. on Thursday, February 5, 2009 in Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Ben LaMonte officiating. Interment followed in Sweet Home Cemetery. Mrs. Hilliard was a homemaker, a retired bookkeeper and a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents Alice Haupt Pitts and Rev. William Rufus Pitts. Survivors include her husband; one daughter; one son; five grandchildren; two greatgrandchildren; four sisters; and two brothers. The family will receive friends in Stokes-Southerland Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 4, 2009. The family requests the omission, of all flowers and would like contributions to be made to the American Cancer Society. Serving as pallbearers were ... ? was the musician for the funeral service. Stokes-Southerland Funeral Horne of Eastman was in charge of arrangements.
