MR. THOMAS HOLMAN HEMPHILL, JR., age 83, of Blue Ridge, GA, died Saturday, August 5, 2017 at his residence in Blue Ridge. Graveside services will be held at 11:00AM Tuesday, August 8, at Woodlawn Cemetery. Mr. Hemphill was born in Dodge County and a 1950 graduate of Chauncey High School before serving as a MP in the United States Army and in Artillery during the Korean War. He was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses and a retired retail sales manager for B.C. Moore’s in Adel, GA for over 38 years before moving to Blue Ridge in 2002. He enjoyed fishing, working and spending time with family and friends. Mr. Hemphill was son of the late Cora Mahaley Holcomb Hemphill and Thomas Holman Hemphill, Sr. and was preceded in death by 9 Siblings, Eugene Hemphill, Gordon Hemphill, Logan Hemphill, Floy Hemphill, Nelly Gilbert, Ruby Connelly, Audrey Jones, Dorothy Lowery and Emily Fogarty. The family will receive friends in Stokes-Southerland Funeral Home from 10:00AM-11:00AM Tuesday, August 8.
