Obituary
John H. Baker, age 73, of Macon died Monday, October 5, 2009 at his residence.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 from the graveside in Chauncey Cemetery with Rev. Ron Watson and Rev. Royce Vaughn officiating and with full military honors.
Mr. Baker was born in Chicago, Illinois and had lived in Macon for the past 17 years. He was a retired U. S. Navy veteran and was retired from Hughes Aircraft and Warner Robins Air Force Base. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and had traveled all over the world. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virginia C. Baker Robertson and Alfred Baker.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters; one sister; two brothers; two step-daughters; two stepsons; mother-in-law; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends in Stokes-Southerland Funeral home on Wednesday, October 5, from noon-1:30 p. m., same day of service. In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions to Hospice of Central Georgia, 3780 Eisenhower Parkway, Suite 2, Macon, GA 31206.
Stokes-Southerland Funeral Home of Eastman was in charge of arrangements.
